Glossary

Outsourcing glossary

A self-contained definition of every term a buyer or candidate might ask.

BPO (Business process outsourcing)
The practice of delegating business processes such as customer experience, back office, finance or human resources to a specialist external provider. The aim is to reduce cost, accelerate scale and improve process quality. Corpshore Türkiye delivers BPO across four cities and remotely, in multiple languages.
IT outsourcing
The delegation of information technology work such as software engineering, cloud, cybersecurity and data to a specialist provider. Corpshore engineering pods work inside the client's own process, as an extension of its own team rather than an arm's-length supplier.
AI delivery
The provision of AI strategy, model development, data annotation, model alignment and automation by an external partner. Corpshore AI manages quality as a gate that batches must pass rather than a report produced after the fact.
KVKK (Turkish data protection law)
Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data. It sets out the principles, lawful bases and data subject rights for processing personal data in Türkiye. The duty to inform and explicit consent are separate obligations, and Corpshore Türkiye handles each of them separately.
Privacy notice (aydınlatma)
The disclosure that satisfies a data controller's duty under Article 10 of the KVKK to inform the data subject how their personal data is processed. It is presented before a form is submitted and does not by itself constitute consent.
Explicit consent
The freely given, informed agreement of a data subject to the processing of their personal data for a specific purpose. It is obtained for consent-based processing such as marketing communication, is never pre-ticked, and can be withdrawn at any time.
VERBİS
The Data Controllers Registry Information System, a public registry under the KVKK in which data controllers meeting certain conditions are required to enrol.
İYS (Message Management System)
Türkiye's national system in which recipient approvals for commercial electronic messages are held and the right to opt out can be exercised. Newsletters and marketing communication are subject to this regime.
MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board)
Türkiye's financial intelligence unit, which imposes obligations to counter money laundering and terrorist financing. Banking onboarding and financial crime review operations are run in line with MASAK requirements.
KYC (Know your customer)
The process by which a financial institution verifies its customer's identity and risk profile. It covers the review of identity, ownership structure and source of funds against policy and regulation.
AML (Anti-money laundering)
The body of controls designed to prevent money laundering. It includes sanctions, politically exposed person and adverse media screening, and the review of suspicious transactions.
CEFR
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which describes language proficiency across six levels from A1 to C2. Corpshore's language matrix states each language by channel and CEFR level.
Nearshore
The delegation of work to a country close to the client in geography and time zone. For European buyers, Türkiye is a nearshore option that provides cost relief without leaving the continent's working day.
Natural language processing
The field of AI that enables computers to understand and generate human language. Because Turkish is agglutinative and morphologically rich, Turkish natural language processing is a specialism rather than a configuration setting.
Data annotation
The labelling and classification of text, audio, image or video data to train AI models. Corpshore recruits annotators for linguistic and domain judgement rather than for volume.
RLHF
Reinforcement learning from human feedback, a method in which human preference judgements are used to align an AI model's behaviour. At scale, that judgement itself has to be quality controlled.
RPA (Robotic process automation)
The automation of rule-based, repetitive work with software robots. Corpshore builds automation together with confidence scoring and human oversight rather than as an unattended black box.
SLA (Service level agreement)
A contractual commitment that defines the performance targets a service will meet, such as response time and resolution rate. It is tracked in monthly governance meetings.
First contact resolution
The rate at which a customer request is resolved in a single contact without the customer needing to get in touch again. It is one of the core indicators of customer experience quality.
Customs Union
The economic arrangement between Türkiye and the European Union that removes customs duties on industrial goods. It is an important context for goods-adjacent services and logistics.
Teknopark (Technology development zone)
A technology development zone established under Law No. 4691 that offers incentives for research, development and software activity. This is general information and not tax advice.
Language premium
An additional payment included in the base salary band for proficiency in a scarce language such as German, Russian or Arabic. At Corpshore this premium is built into the band rather than promised later.
Surge capacity
Pre-committed, pre-trained additional operational capacity for periods when volume spikes, such as campaign windows. It is triggered by volume thresholds and the campaign calendar.
Currency indexation
Pricing and paying contracts in EUR or USD, with the indexation mechanism stated in the contract, so the client is insulated from Turkish lira volatility.
